Harlem Globe Trotters

The Harlem Globe Trotters came to town, and if there was ever a show tailored just for Isaac, this was it.  He had a great time, got his ball signed by a real Globe trotter, and learned some sweet moves he will for sure try out in the gym soon.

Snows Off the Driveway!

With the snow off the driveway and warmer weather Isaac broke out the cones and practiced his dribbling.  He sure loves basketball and is a big fan of Jabari Parker.  He read the other day that when Jabari was eight years old, he would practice in the driveway with cones, so he decided to follow a very good example.  Isaac at eight years is just under 5 feet tall and is projected to be 6'8", just like Jabari. We are grateful for positive role models in Isaac's life.

Teton River Trek

One of our favorite Saturday activities is to hike along the Teton River to a very large tree on the banks that is home to a couple of adult bald eagles and a very large nest.  For this excursion we didn't find the eagles home, but we hiked further down the river and came to north end of a large elk ranch. Along the way we did see a lot of beaver activity and one trap. The ranch is interesting because there are hundreds of elk, some bighorn sheep, and 3 buffaloes, two of which are albinos.  After returning to our car, we noticed the eagles had returned, but we will have to wait for next time for a closer encounter.

Lincoln Thunder Game 6

Our second to last game was a lot of fun for the boys.  The teams were pretty evenly matched and was probably about a tie.  The boys were good sports and improve each week.  Spencer Eyring was the photographer and did a great job!

Lincoln Thunder Game 5

This week we faced another team from Lincoln Elementary.  The boys improve each week and the plays we worked on in practice actually worked several times.  We played on court 2 which was a new experience.  Here are the picture highlights from this week.

Lincoln Thunder Game 4

For our 4th game we faced a team from Sugar City and they were the best team we played yet.  While we don't officially keep score, both teams scored several baskets.  We had all 6 players which was great and the boys had a good time.  They are really improving and our two main plays worked several times.

Isaac's Piano Lesson

Our eight-year-old son Isaac is really taking to the piano.  He has huge hands and extra long fingers, so it should come easy.  I often practices on his own and he really enjoys it.  Keep it up Isaac!

Lincoln Thunder Game 3

Our third game mysteriously featured extra low baskets, which made for some exciting action around the hoop.  The opposing green team made a several long baskets and featured a couple of really fast players.  The Thunder game through with several clutch shots and the team is really doing well in following shots. The green team was well coached and were taught to yell "shot" every time our team attempted a basket.  Our team exhibited good sportsmanship and we had a good reminder to only say good things to our teammates and players on the other side.
