Our adorable six-year old Emrie decided to bear her testimony for the first time today. She did it all on her own and when I asked if I could help she said she would be just fine. When she got up she said "When I was a baby my heart stopped beating the Doctors couldn't get me alive, please don't laugh, but you can laugh if you want to, but Jesus poofed me alive. My mom would have been sad if I had not lived." It was neat to hear Emrie's version of one of the great miracles in our married life. She was born with no life as her cord was prolapsed and they had to do an emergency C-section. The nurses worked on her for several minutes and the doctors believed she was without oxygen for 10-11 minutes. She had no heartbeat, no breathing, but the nurses both indicated they felt prompted to keep working on her and she was soon revived. The pediatrician indicated Emrie may have some longterm disabilities, but thanks to heaven's help and the power of a priesthood blessing, she is just fine -- in fact, she is super capable and very smart. We are very blessed and so happy to have our little miracle with us today.
