Welcome to the Davis Family Blog! We are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). We hope you enjoy learning more about our family. We love our six children, wonderful daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. We are a musical family, and love the outdoors.
Cindy and the three youngest had chance to put on a little show for the folks in the Rexburg Nursing home. Christopher and Isaac sang a song, with Emrie along for support. Isaac and Emrie then danced around while Cindy san some oldies.
Thanks to some very large and very old trees, we get a ton of leaves in our back yard. While we have some warms days, the kids have enjoyed playing in the piles. Isaac particularly likes our games of backyard football. Have fun now, because next week will be time to start raking and bagging!
Emrie has a new habit of holding her food like a chipmunk for a very long time. Needless to say, it really extends supper. So, we tried a little time-out to see if that would prompt some chewing and swallowing. No luck, we just got a series of sad looks and then once we relented, a bit of a sheepish grin and then she walked over to her plate and spit out the soggy lasagna. Yum.
Christopher has posted some new pictures at artbycd.blogspot.com. Here is his latest drawing. He is really interested in history at the moment, especially World War II.
Here is one picture of Isaac and Emrie having a little breakfast before church. After church, we enjoyed a nice fall afternoon. I tried to get Isaac an and Emrie to pose together, but big brother was too busy playing super hero and Emrie was content to follow along. She does pose pretty well by herself, but some cute sibling pictures are pretty hard to take. I did snap a nice shot of our 14 year old dog Lolli, who is our faithful companion and front yard sentinel.
On Sunday we celebrated Emrie's second birthday, which actually happened on Saturday, October 10. Emrie made the most of her 2 day celebration by letting everyone know it was her happy birthday. She is really a fun little girl, full of life and personality, and saying more and more big words all of the time. She was especially glad to have Grandpa and Grandma Davis, and Matthew, Aubrey and Taylor stop by for her little party. And of course, Jenna, Christopher, and Isaac enjoyed spoiling their little sister.
It seems we spend most of our time in the kitchen, lately drying apples and plums. Cindy has also been busy making sour dough bread and pancakes. Emrie got in on the action recently helping beat the egg whites for our pancakes.
Isaac is in his first term of pre-school at BYU-Idaho. He is having a great time and learning a lot. He is by far the biggest kid in the class, even though the others are his same age. He is a fun loving and outgoing little (big) boy.
Christopher had his last football game this week which was also their first win, a 31-12 victory over Rigby. The team has fought hard all year and they have really improved. The game was played on a very cold night in Rigby with the the last half in a downpour. We were hoping for a team picture but once the game was over everyone dashed for the parking lot. Christopher is number 59 playing guard on the offensive line. He was especially proud that his blocking assignment never made a tackle during the whole game.
Our 4 year old Isaac got in on some action roughing up a 7 year old. And Emrie was just glad to be wearing her snow suit.
I think we may have started some new traditions, abelskeevers for breakfast on Saturday, and Sour Dough Pancakes for Sunday. Plus, sour dough bread for dinner. Emrie enjoyed both her chocolate milk and a nap with Christopher. Isaac actually watched a bit of conference, but had to be safely secured on mom's lap.
